Weekly Top for 1-27-23

 Folks,


Thanks for a great 1st half -

Kenny and I would like to thank you for a great 1st semester! Your commitment to students, your relationships that you have built, your parent communication, etc. are truly commendable! Who can ask for a better group to work with? I am sure the second half of the school year will fly by!





Variety Show Tonight -

Tonight at the John & Dede Auditorium at SJHS beginning at 7:00 PM is the Upton Middle School variety show under the direction of Cassidy!  Please consider coming to support our young stars!





Grades due-

1st semester, 2nd marking period, and for some semester exam grades are due Monday, January 30th by 4:00 PM.  If you need assistance ask a mentor or T3 on submitting grades.  Incomplete grades and grade changes will be handled with Robynne.  We also would like you to continue NWEA through Monday and after Monday we will work through makeup testing.





February checklist and... -

A February checklist is around the corner as next Wednesday is February 1st for your convenience.  Count day will be on Wednesday, February 8th.




Educator of the Week -

For those of you not at the staff meeting Monday and seen the Facebook posts not only was Burke Lokey our educator of the week, but he also was the recipient of the MSTA teacher of the year!  We are blessed with such a great performing arts department!  Congratulations to Burke on his very deserving award!




No meetings next week and... -

We have no after school meetings next week.  Also, I will be out of the district next Friday, February 3rd and a portion of Saturday at some school site visits and the middle school principal's conference.

Weekly Top for 1-20-23

Course Description Due Today -

Just a reminder that course description changes, additions, subtractions for the 2023-2024 school year are due today.  Please submit those changes to Robynne.  Thanks!




Student Survey moved to Monday, January 30th-

As I mentioned in an email on Wednesday, we will be moving the survey to your advisory on Monday, January 30th.  The students will remain in your advisory for BEAR Time in 6th & 8th grade.  In 7th grade they will start in your BEAR Time go to lunch and come back to finish their survey.  Announcements, and Wayfinder (if time allows) will follow the survey.

Wednesday-Friday -
Wednesday is a 1/2 day for students and full day for staff

Spelling Bee Winners - 


After many weeks of practice, the following 3 students emerged as the Upton Spelling Bee winners. They will represent Upton Middle School in the Cloverleaf Spelling Bee on February 22 at the Mendel Center.

Upton Variety Show-

The Upton Variety Show will be Friday, January 27th starting at 7pm at the John & Dede Auditorium at St Joseph High School.

Weekly Top for 1-13-23

 Folks,


Monday's PD-  
We will begin in the media center on Monday at 8:00 AM and we will end at 1:15 PM.  Doughnuts and coffee will be available in the AM.  However, lunch will not be provided.  I sent the agenda out earlier in the week, but here is the link again:

Makeup for those not trained

We will have a makeup day, time, and location very soon for those that were not at our meeting on Monday for "Stop the Bleed". If you are unsure if you are a person that needs to get the certificate for this, see me. Please watch your email for further details.




Bear Time -

Please note: Taking BEAR time off is not an option for staff. If you are not offering an intervention or extension you must provide a place for students to do homework, study, or read. If you have any questions, please come and see me in person.
