Weekly Upton News...9-15-17

Good Morning,

NWEA-
Today is the math NWEA.  Hopefully day 2 will go smooth for you!

Happy Birthday-
Happy birthday today to Matt Maier!
Happy belated birthday this past Tuesday to Beth Gray-Roll!

Back to School Night-
If you can park in the Peace Lutheran Parking lot that would be great!  In your 11 minutes per class it is nice to highlight your background/a bit about yourself, homework/tests/quizzes/projects on itsLearning, and a bit about your curriculum.  I know in 11 minutes it is tough, but for the parents that come I know they always enjoy back to school night and leave the evening feeling good about UMS!

Thanks-
-  Amy P. for her incredible amount of time scheduling the last few weeks.
-  Torrey for putting a needs survey together for staff.
-  Amy D. for orchestrating a great Boot Camp once again.
-  6th grade teachers for delivering awesome boot camp sessions and being patient through the hurdles.
-  Teri for all her start of the school year organziation.
-  Sara for her incredible job with her very first start-up day and all the athletic paperwork!
-  Grace for her attendance help in tracking down students.
-  Craig for once again delivering an online handbook check and bullying education.

Late-Start-
We have our first late start of the year next Wednesday, September 20th.  It will be great to continue the wonderful work your departments have started.  Here is a link to the best 11 things you can say to your team this year:

40-40-20
As mentioned at our first staff meeting we will be 40% first marking period, 40% 2nd marking period, and 20% semester exams for all grades 6th-12th grades.  This default is set in PowerSchool.

Rivalry-
Enjoy the game tonight!  GO BEARS!!
